Ginchy Series
Ginchy Series of mimobot characters has arrived, cool and hungry after their travels in Los Angeles! Ramona, Link and Betty-Lou are mini rockabilly buddies who love exploring, taking pictures, and sharing them with their friends. And now they’re ready to find some data to save and to take you on a photo tour of their adventures. Watch out though, you may find ’em rockin’ out to your MP3s when you’re not looking!
The Ginchy Series, a groundbreaking mimoco collaboration, brings three superstars from their respective fields together. The attitude-enhanced characters are designed by Lili Chin, co-creator of the hit “¡Mucha Lucha!” franchise. Brian McCarty, known for his extraordinary toy photography, brings the Ginchys to life with his digital slide show of Ramona, Link and Betty-Lou as they embark on adventures through Los Angeles, all set to a soundtrack by New York-based musician Phofo.
Brian McCarty is a well-known toy photographer who takes pride in the life-like images he creates. Based in Los Angeles, his work has been featured in and on the covers of publications from Vibe Magazine to MTV’s Overground #3. His trend-setting style has brought high demand for his work, and he has spearheaded projects for such popular clients as Rockstar Games and [adult swim], bringing an uncanny vibrancy to toys from powerhouse brands such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force to Grand Theft Auto III.
The Ginchy mimobot characters were created by Lili Chin, one half of the Fwak! Animation Studios, known for the popular Warner Brothers cartoon “¡Mucha Lucha!.” Her experience ranges far and wide, and along with partner Eddie Mort, she has created characters like the Cosmic Baby, The Fuzz, and Afro Baby. Currently, Lili Chin and her studio are producing a new movie - "Los Campeones de la Lucha Libre" for the Azteca Network; and developing a "Guitar Wolf" animated show.
Phofo, the mastermind behind the Ginchys’ soundtrack, is a man of many talents. In addition to being a revolutionary indie DJ, Phofo is a trial lawyer and copyright specialist. While his main website is dedicated to his sample-pop and hip-hop musical accomplishments, he also runs a website providing legal advice to artists who use sampling in their work.
