What memory capacities
are available? mimobots come in 512MB, 1GB, 2GB
and 4GB sizes. Note: The actual usable memory size is
less than stated in the product specification due to
flash memory design, testing, and formatting.
How many photos or
songs can I store on my mimobot flash drive? The
table below displays approximate number of pictures
or songs per capacity.

Are mimobots compatible
with my OS? If you use a Windows (Vista, XP, 2000, 98SE)
or Mac (OS 9.0 or later) computer then you're all set.
Officially we do not support Linux, but some users have
reported success on their Linux machines. Please also
note, Windows NT does not support USB flash drives.
Do I need a driver?
Not unless you're running Windows 98SE. If so, you can
download the driver here.
Are mimobots USB 2.0? Yes,
mimobots are Hi-Speed USB 2.0 and are backwards compatible
with USB 1.1.
Why does my mimobot's tail
light up? That's the data activity indicator light.
A mimobot's tail flashes when in use. Do not remove
the drive when the data activity light is on or data
loss may occur.
How do I turn off my mimobot?
Mac: Drag your mimobot from the desktop to the
trash. Windows: Right click the "Safely Remove
Hardware" icon on your task bar. Select and stop the
drive (usually listed as "USB Mass Storage Device").
Confirm and select the drive you'd like to stop (usually
listed as "mimobot USB Device"). Both: When your
computer notifies you and the tail indicator light turns
off, it is then safe to remove the mimobot from your
PC.
Are mimobots safe? Of course.
They're FCC/CE certified, meaning they've passed rigid
consumer electronics testing as required by governing
bodies in the US, Europe, and Asia. For best results,
mimobots should not be left in the sun, come into contact
with water, or be used as a toy. Caution, contains small
parts. Not suitable for children under the age of 13.
What about tech support?
Should you need it, we offer full technical support
for the operation of your mimobot.
How big is a mimobot?
Held in your hand, a mimobot is 2 3/8" x 1 1/8" x ½"
small, or 60 x 27 x 13mm for you metric system folk.
On planet blõôh, mimobots are nanometer-scaled, barely
the size of a molecule.
Where and how can I adopt
a mimobot? You can adopt a mimobot in The
Lab or at your friendly boutique
retailer.
What payment types do you
accept? We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American
Express. All transactions are conducted in US currency.
What is your delivery policy?
mimoco is based in Boston, MA, USA and we ship to many
countries worldwide via USPS, UPS & FedEx. Shipping
prices vary with order weight and method used and can
be determined before check out via the online shopping
cart (lab.mimoco.com).
In stock mimobots usually ship within two days of order.
A confirmation number will be emailed when your mimobot
is shipped.
Domestic transit times vary depending on the level of
service requested: UPS Ground takes 1 to 6 business
days, depending on the shipping address. UPS 3 Day,
FedEx 2-Day and Overnight are options as well. Finally,
USPS Priority is available and usually takes 3 days,
but is not guaranteed and sometimes takes up to 2 weeks
or longer (We do not recommend USPS Priority if your
purchase is intended to arrive on a specific date (i.e.,
as a gift) less than two weeks from date of order.).
Please note: neither UPS, nor FedEx ship to PO boxes.
All deliveries to PO boxes will be sent via USPS Priority.
All about tracking: FedEx and UPS ship with a tracking
number, while USPS Priority only includes a delivery
confirmation number. The FedEx and UPS tracking numbers
will provide package whereabouts, whereas USPS Priority
Mail only identifies general delivery information.
In addition, for all orders placed on mimoco’s website that are $40 or less, there is also the option of having your order shipped via USPS Parcel Post. Domestic shipments using this option will incur a shipping fee of $5, and International orders will be charged $10. However, unlike our other shipping options, this method provides no insurance or tracking, and therefore there is no way to ascertain where the order is once it has been shipped. This is the cheapest option for orders under $40, but it is also the most risky. Mimoco cannot be held responsible for merchandise lost under these circumstances.
International recipients may be required by national
law to pay import duty tax. International shipping options
include FedEx International Priority (1-3 days) or FedEx
International Economy (3-5 days), or USPS Global Express
(3-5 days). All about tracking: FedEx ships with a tracking
number, while USPS Global Express only includes a delivery
confirmation number. The FedEx tracking number will
provide package whereabouts, whereas USPS Global Express
only identifies the date the package cleared customs.
Do you have a warranty and
return policy? Due to their limited nature, we cannot
accept mimobots for return. mimobots are guaranteed
free from defects, but if found defective can be returned
for a replacement within one year of purchase. A Return
Authorization Number (RA#) and receipt must always accompany
returns. Contact us at deadbot@mimoco.com for directions
to return your sad nonworking mimobot to the mothership.
Because mimobot runs are always short, we cannot guarantee
the availability of the same mimobot as originally purchased.
We'll always replace mimobots for the same or higher
memory capacity. This warranty does not cover damage
by accident, misuse, tampering, moisture, or normal
wear and tear. Please note that mimoco assumes no responsibility for lost or corrupted data. When backing up your data, always use more than one method.
Do you offer pre-orders?
From time to time, mimoco offers fresh mimobot characters
for pre-ordering on the site. Place an order now and
we'll ship your mimobots as soon as they are
in stock. You will be billed for all charges related to the purchase of your mimobot up front, including estimated shipping charges.
When the pre-order period comes to an end your order will be shipped, and you will be among the first to receive your limited-edition mimobot Art Toy USB Flash Drive. Any other items purchased at the time
of pre-order will be held until the pre-ordered item
becomes available, unless the "Split Shipping" box is chosen during check out.
Orders using the "Split Shipping" option incur
separate delivery charges when the pre-ordered item ships.
Please note that product availability
dates are estimates and you may receive your order earlier
or later than the date specified. If there is a delay
in your shipment we will notify you by email. If for
any reason your pre-ordered item does not become available, the full
amount billed will be refunded.
What is your shipping policy for contest winners?
Congratulations if you just won a contest sponsored by mimoco! Now, you may be wondering how your awesome prize will be delivered to you?
US winners: if you live in the US, your prize will ship free of charge via UPS Ground. You’ll receive an email once the package ships with a tracking number. UPS Ground takes 1 to 6 business days, depending on the shipping address.
Non-US winners: if you don’t live in the US, three options are available:
- USPS First Class: free of charge, no tracking number, no insurance, delivery time varies depending on the shipping address.
- USPS Express: $25 to 35 charged to the winner, tracking number and insurance provided, takes 5-7 business days
- FedEx: $40 to $70 charged to the winner, tracking number and insurance provided, takes 2-3 business days.
What is your privacy policy?
We do not share your information with anybody except
on an as needed basis to process payments with a third
party payment processing partner and to our shipping
partners to deliver your package. For purchases, we
use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt
all of your personal information (such as your credit
card number) as it travels across the internet. This
means that your information remains private and safe!
