    Elemental Magazine: mimobots

"Sure, flash drives are great. It's handy to have something the size of your nose that holds works in progress, especially if you are a web designer and have smaller files. But like so many other technologies, the function came before the form, long before. Flash drives are generally designed with the year-2000 i-theme - see thru plastic, an LED, etc. They were used, no doubt, but it was never really fun. The designers at Mimoco knew this, and in 2004 set out on a memory mission that became a small revolution. They're USB flash drives - no, they're super cute vinyl figures - both! Mimobots store from 256MB to 2GB of crap. At just over 2" tall, they're easy to stick anywhere, just like their uglier forefathers. Designer Yahid Rodriguez killed the design, with the pictured goSeries ready for a winter launch. mimobots.com"
