April 26, 2006gizmodo: mimobots Flying Cats SeriesMimobots Flying Cats Series - Gizmodo Two new Mimobots! We here at Gizmodo puffy heart the mimobot USB flash drives and prize them above all others, so it's great to see mimoco launching a new installment in their limited edition artist series.Posted by mimoco at 12:08 AM April 25, 2006Shiny Shiny: New mimobotsI'm actually quite pleased to see they've come out with a pirate-themed mimobot, because I felt a bit put out when, earlier this year, they released a ninja mimobot. After all, everyone knows pirates are much cooler than ninjas. Interestingly, however, HERO's motto is "Hero is Love"; and the Wee Ninja X's mask says LOVE across the front, so may the two aren't so different after all. Or maybe the Wee Ninja x is really HERO in disguise. Or maybe they're just USB key toys - and if you had both of them you could make them fight to the death for Love dominance. Or you could just use them to store your data. It's your call.Shiny Shiny Posted by mimoco at 12:03 AM April 21, 2006gearlog: HERO mimobot is hereGearlog : HERO Mimobot Is Here! Corrupted_Data to Follow Mimoco sure are busy bots folks, because the mimobots keep on a-coming. Doubling as a designer toy, Mimobots come in a variety of cute designs, and we particularly like the Artist Series which boasts major names in the toy industry like design duo TADO, plush toy guru Shawnimal, and one to watch artist Yahid Rodriguez. Not only do they look cool, but they also come packed with extras, such as fresh beats from DJ DB and mini animations and games from illustrator team Peskimo. All mimobots are now priced as follows: 256MB - $49.95 Even more good news! Part 2 of the Flying Cat Artist Series is on the way! And who better than Sir Jon Burgerman to perform the honor?? That's right - Mr. Burgerman drops his Corrupted_Data creation, a dancing melee of all your ones and zeros turned to mush by an unexpected surge of electricity. Corrupted_Data is now open for pre-order and is expected to ship on May 13th. And don't miss the TADO and Burgerman trailers too. April 19, 2006The FADER Magazine - USBing ThereThe FADER Magazine - USBing There The folks at Mimoco have tried to boost the whole "collectible toy" concept into something beyond expensive desk toppers, by throwing a portable USB hardrive inside all their figurines. Useful! Their latest project, a collaboration with artist TADO, drops this week in disk sizes from 512MB to 2GB, and we imagine there's all sorts of legally downloaded music you can put on it or something.
