    MIMOBOT Graduation Sale!

Hey all, it's that time of year again, where young men and women across the country stride confidently across a stage to a lot of pomp (and circumstance... rimshot please), receive a piece of paper with their name on it, and head out into the world to make their mark on the economy! Or, if they're like me, they move back into their parents' house and play video games until the student loans come due, but whatever floats your boat.

Of course, I'm talking about... graduation. And in honor of this auspicious occasion (yes, I know what 'auspicious' means), we at Mimoco are putting a selection of MIMOBOT Flash Drives on sale. Pick up any of our special sale characters for 25% off! Characters include some of our popular Halo Series MIMOBOT drives, Core Series 2, Artist Series and Happy Tree Friends! Add 'em to your cart, and see the savings.

Beyond that, if you buy $100 or more worth of products, you'll be emailed a $10 gift certificate, plus another $10 for each $50 you spend beyond that (spend $150, get $20; spend $200, get $30; etc.).

We're running this sale for four weeks, so 5/6-6/3. Get to the lab, order some MIMOBOT drives for your favorite graduate (or for yourself, we promise we won't tell), and enjoy the Grad Sale!

Happy Graduation, and congratulations to all who have completed the arduous task of high school, college, grad school, vocational tech school, flight school, police academy 3, and training on the fryer!

Help Susan G Komen's Race for the Cure this Mother's Day!

Greetings one and all, and happy upcoming Mother's Day! For Mother's Day this year, we wanted to help out our community as much as we can: that's why in celebration, we're donating 10% of all online profits to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

For those of you who don't know, the Susan G. Komen fund is a huge, active organization of breast cancer survivors and activists. The fund started as a promise between two sisters, a beautiful, sad, and unforgettable story of family and the struggles of cancer. Now the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is one of the world's leaders in stimulating research in the fight, nay the race, to cure cancer.

Help out by donating directly to the fund or buy purchasing a MIMOBOT at our lab store. Happy Mother's Day to all, and together we can help make the future free of breast cancer.

    Simone Legno signing at NYCC

Hey all, we've got huge, exciting news - Simone Legno, the genius behind the tokidoki designs, is going to be signing at the MIMOBOT booth at New York Comic Con! In conjunction with the tokidoki for MIMOBOT release (remember folks, we're launching these at NYCC), Mr. Legno will be making a personal appearance, and any of you tokidoki fans lucky enough to get a sticket will have a chance to meet him and get a signature!

What's a sticket, you say? How do I get one? That's easy - a 'sticket' is a sticker ticket! We'll be giving out numbered stickers on Friday, April 18th, at the MIMOBOT booth. To get one, you have to sign up on the 'I Want To Meet Simone' sheet at our booth. The 'sticket', combined with your name on the list, will be your opportunity to meet the man everyone loves.

The signing will be Saturday, April 19th from 2-4 for everyone with a sticket!

Please note: we will not be able to handle a mob scene at the sticket signup. If it's too crazy and we can't determine the order people arrived in, we reserve the right to implement a sticket number lottery system in order to choose who gets a signature and when.

    Vote for Poykpac!!!

Greetings Mimo-people! We've got some good news from our riotous friends Poykpac (you know them from our first Mimozine and their awesome YouTube videos): they're up for a couple of huge awards, and they need our help to push them over the top - as if they weren't already!

First of all, they're in the Sketchies contest - go here to vote for 'em. Show them Planet Blooh and its ambassadors care!

Secondly, they're up for a Best of YouTube (bully!) award - head over here and, again, show them some love with that voting finger of yours (not the one you point at politicians, the one you vote online with... c'mon people, minds out of the gutter!).

Poykpac has posted a great reward if you vote: YOU - yes YOU - can be one of the people who walks around and says "Poykpac? Feh, I was a fan of Poykpac LONG before they were huge." The arrogance! The feeling of self-importance! The voting fingers from your friends!

So head over today, nay, right now, and vote, vote, vote! Hurry! They're running out of time!

Oh yeah, and check out our Mimozine trailer to see a short teaser of the original Mimozine, and re-live our first experience with Poykpac!

mimoco at E For All 2007!

That's right, we just got back from the City of Angels (returning, of course, to the City of Red Sox) where we peddled our artistic wares at the E For All video game show. Naturally, this was the Halo mimobot Series 1's coming out party, since they officially went on sale the same day E For All started.

The show started off quite well, with lots of visitors on a Thursday (what, Californians don't work? Must be nice!). The rest of the show was rather slow, though, with low foot traffic and plenty of time for me to play Unreal 3, Guitar Hero 3 and, the cream of the crop, Rock Friggin' Band!

Honestly though, E For All attendees seemed to dig the Halo 'bots (and the Star Wars Series 1), and there were plenty of "Finish the file transfer!" shouts thrown about (big ups to Gizmodo's Brian Lam for the play-on-words). LA pretty much rocked outside the show, where I personally tore up the Brass Monkey bar on Wilshire with a stunning rendition of "The Humpty Dance." The mimopeeps also made our appearances at Mann's Chinese Theater and the Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles in Long Beach.

Well, that was our trip; with Master Chief and his cadre of Spartans in tow, we successfully invaded Los Angeles and had a wonderful time. For those of you who we were lucky enough to meet at the show, thanks for coming by, and with winter coming make sure you have a protoHoodie to keep your mimobots warm!

    Boston Globe: Ninja Power

Tech-savvy folks know that a USB drive is a portable memory stick used to store computer information. Designers at the Boston-based company Mimoco and the fashion experts at the Boston boutique Karmaloop know that these USB devices don't have to look so, well, industrial. Tonight, Karmaloop is unveiling a new line of USB drives designed to look like ''Wee Ninja" characters named ''Love" and ''Hate," designed by a Chicago artist. Is it necessary to have a memory stick that looks like a little ninja? Probably not. But it's adorable. There will be a free USB party tonight from 8 to 10:30 at Karmaloop. The drives range in price from $60 to $185, depending on the memory. Karmaloop, 160 Newbury St., 617-369-0100. www.karmaloop.com
